Georgina Hartley-Willows is a Sheffield-based artist originally from Cumbria who transitioned from teaching languages to full-time art after having her first child in 2024. She creates vibrant acrylic landscape paintings known for their bold colour and lively style. Her work is available as original pieces, fine art prints, and large-scale wallpaper murals, including custom designs.
In 2025, she expanded into hosting relaxed “paint-along” events aimed at all skill levels, encouraging creativity in a social setting. Her work focuses on bringing energy, colour, and personality into homes while making art accessible and enjoyable for a wide audience
Brian, primarily a watercolour artist, gave an engaging and highly practical demonstration for the group. Alongside examples of his finished paintings, he brought a selection of sketchbooks which offered a fascinating insight into his working process.
His demonstration focused on perspective, shading and, importantly, learning to recognise underlying shapes within an image — helping members understand how to sketch more accurately and confidently. Throughout, he answered questions generously and shared techniques that were both accessible and immediately useful.
Part of Brian's presentation dealt with abstraction. He showed how he'd looked at an object - in this case the cover of a Harry Potter book - and created an abstract painting.
